Request for Applications: Social Media Coordinator, Mama Certified

Mama Certified is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to manage our social media channels and support the rollout of our 2025 certification launch. The coordinator will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, engaging with our audience and ensuring the successful execution of our social media strategy.

Mama Certified is a collaborative project in Cincinnati, Ohio designed to provide Black parents-to-be with a way to assess and understand the maternal equity-related efforts of local hospital networks and to encourage increased efforts toward maternal equity by area hospitals. Timeline: November 2024-June 2025

Compensation: $1,000 per month, average 25 hours monthly 

Scope of Work 

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  1. Content Creation and Management:

    • Schedule social media content across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) that aligns with Mama Certified’s mission and campaign objectives.

    • Utilize campaign materials and brand toolkit to create engaging posts, graphics and multimedia content that resonate with our target audience of mothers, families and healthcare providers.

    • Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media channels.

  2. Campaign Support:

    • Execute the social media aspects of the 2025 certification launch campaign.

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media activities with broader campaign strategies.

  3. Community Engagement:

    • Actively engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a positive and supportive online community.

    • Monitor and report on social media trends and audience feedback to inform content strategy and improve engagement.

  4. Performance Tracking and Reporting:

    • Track and analyze social media performance using analytics tools, providing monthly reports on key metrics (e.g. engagement, follower growth, reach).

    • Use insights to optimize content and strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with campaign goals.

  5. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with the Mama Certified team, including designers, content creators and marketing strategists, to ensure cohesive and effective social media efforts.

    • Attend regular check-ins and planning meetings to stay aligned with the campaign.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management, preferably within the maternal health, healthcare or nonprofit sectors.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends and best practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.

  • Proficiency in using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for maternal health and a commitment to supporting the mission of Mama Certified.
